Most Memorable Tournament:
If I was asked this question 2 weeks ago, my most memorable tournament would be 2004 USDGC. I never played a tournament outside the Midwest and to be Nebraska State rep and draw Climo first round was the highlight, Now my favorite moment would be 2007 USDGC, To be leading the greatest tourney on the Grandist stage was the epitome of all my hard work and sacrifice. I look to only get better.
Most Memorable Tournament:
Pickard Open, I was down 8 strokes with 18 to play and shot an astounding 47(1065 rated round) to be tied for first and win in the first hole of the playoff.
Advice to beginners:
If you are just starting off, learn to throw a midrange disc. A Roc or Coyote or a shark will really help you understand the discs flight characteristics.
If you want to get good at the game, play with people that beat you. Watch how they handle themselves on the course. Watch their decision making and disc selection. All will pay off in the end. Learn to throw a putter!
Goals:
I have set goals for myself every season and reached and surpassed
them.
2005 be 970 rated and win $1000 I was 972 and won $1100
2006 be 990 rated and win $2500, I was 992 and won $3200
2007 was to make Team Innova and to achieve the elusive 1000 rating and win $5000,
I currently 1001 and won over $7000
My goals have changed recently, I had a goal to just cash at the USDGC, Leading after the first day, my goals seem to change over night. I am confident that one day I will win a Major Championship. I have the tools, the drive and the mind set to make it happen. I have made many sacrifices in my life to become the best disc golfer I can be. Thanks for all the support on and off the road to all my friends and family across this great country. Thanks to Innova Champion Discs for making the best discs on the planet and for allowing me to join your World Class team.
Anything Else?:
Be good to people around you and help make them be the best person they can be. Smile Everyday and love yourself. Leave every place better than you found it and your life will be rewarding.
God bless and keep it in the fairway and on the green side of the yellow rope.
