5 FPO Events, 5 Unique Winners
Last weekend’s Texas State Disc Golf Championships continued an electric start to the 2024 DGPT season. The FPO had their fifth unique winner through five events, putting to bed any thoughts of single-player dominance this season. The MPO had two players shoot rounds rated over 1100.
Team Innova had a solid weekend in both divisions. Ohn Scoggins secured another podium finish after going into the final round tied for the lead. Calvin Heimburg, still recovering from an injury, finished in 5th place without throwing forehands.
3rd Highest-Rated FPO Player of All Time
Ohn Scoggins has finished in the top five of the last five events she has played. Last weekend at the 2024 Texas State Disc Golf Championships, she averaged 997-rated golf to take 3rd place.
Ohn’s driving was just as on point as her putting. She led the field in Parked percentage, was 2nd in Fairway Hits, 3rd in Scramble rate, and 3rd in C1x Putting. If she connected on a few C2 putts in the final round, she could have won this tournament.
Ohn currently sits in 2nd place of the DGPT Point standings for 2024, just four points behind Missy Gannon. In the March ratings update, Ohn became the 3rd highest-rated FPO player of all time at 984. Every aspect of her game looks as sharp this season as ever. We are in for a very special year from this fan-favorite phenom.

Top Innova FPO Performances
Henna Blomroos had another fantastic tournament off the tee. She led the field in C1 Hits in Regulation and Strokes Gained Tee to Green. Once she finds her putt from inside the circle, Henna will be back on top of the leaderboard.
Kat Mertsch tied for 15th and was 2nd in the field in Strokes Gained Tee to Green. Eveliina Salonen tied for 15th as well.
Who Needs a Forehand?
Calvin Heimburg took 5th place at the 2024 Texas States Disc Golf Championships without throwing forehands. Last year’s Player of the Year has been recovering from injury throughout the start of this season; despite that, he took 3rd place two weekends ago and 5th place last weekend. He has missed just two C1 putts in his past six tournament rounds. Once Calvin returns to full form, expect the same level of play week in and week out as last year.
Top Innova MPO Performances
Nathan Queen had his best finish of the year so far, landing in a tie for 7th. He kept the disc in bounds, scrambled well, and hit some key C2 putts.
Randon Latta had the highest-rated DGPT tournament of his career at 1039. He was 4th in the field in Strokes Gained Tee to Green and finished in a tie for 11th.
Belize’s top player, Randy Dueck, had his best DGPT event yet, tying for 27th. He led the field in Fairway Hits at 91%.
Defending Titles in Jonesboro
The DGPT is taking a week off before returning April 12-14 for the Jonesboro Open. Last year, Team Innova won this event in both divisions. Kat Mertsch took down her first DGPT event in her home state in one of the most emotional finishes to a tournament all year. Calvin Heimburg became back-to-back Champ and will be looking for the threepeat this season.
