It was a one-two punch for Team Innova this weekend at Louisville’s Charlie Vettiner Open. Team Captain Ken Climo edged Dave Feldberg, the world’s number one ranked player, to capture the open division title. In the end, it was a single throw that separated these two. Ken and Dave are gearing up for the USDGC in just a few weeks. In Masters, Dave Greenwell blistered the course repeatedly and cruised to an 18-stroke victory over Dr. Rick Voakes.

Paul McBeth picked up a nice, 1-shot victory over Steve Rico at the End of the Trail Classic in Visalia, CA. Teammates Derek Billings and Jim Oates rounded out Open’s top 5. Carrie Berlogar one-upped fellow teammate Anni Kreml for the win. After three rounds AND a final nine, Patrick Brown found himself in a four way tie for 1st place. He may not have won the playoff, but settled for a second place finish.

The action was hot in Memphis at the Southern National Pro Championships. A loaded Open field was on hand that included some of the season’s biggest names. Matt Orum took second and Garrett “Double G” Gurthie finished fourth in Open, while Courtney McCoy posted a solid second place finish in just her third event of the season. Dean Tannock also placed well with a second in Masters.

A big congrats goes out to Darrell Nodland for his 13 stroke margin of victory in Bismarck, ND. The Woodway wasn’t too much of a Challenge for Jay “Yeti” Reading this weekend, as he averaged better than 1040 rated golf to claim the title in Woodway Texas.

Congrats also to David Wiggins Jr. for his win at the Leigh Farm Labor Day Throwdown in Durham, NC.

Peter Shive performed admirably in Grandmasters at the Johnny Roberts Memorial, placing second. Al Schack was tied for the win in Masters at the Michigan State Championships, losing in a sudden death playoff.
