Round Three Recap
Day 3 of the PDGA World Championships brought a major shift in momentum in the favor of Missy Gannon. After Round 2 it felt like Kristin Tattar was unstoppable, but in the last six holes of Round Three, Missy shaved four strokes off Kristin’s lead. As the players walked off 18’s green, the crowd roared for Missy, thanking her for keeping things interesting in the FPO division.
On the MPO side, the young guns are still holding things down. Cole Redalen sits in the solo lead at -26. But the final two days of Worlds bring a different kind of pressure that favors the veterans. Big names like Calvin, Ricky, and Paul should never be counted out just because they are a few strokes back.
Team Innova FPO Highlights
Eveliina Salonen (T4)
Eveliina Salonen is hunting down a World Championship podium this week at Smuggs’. In Round Three, she had her best inside-the-circle putting performance of the event so far, an indication that Eveliina is feeling confident and collected. As always, Eveliina is crushing it in the throwing stats. She is 1st in C1 Hits in Regulation, 2nd in Strokes Gained Tee to Green, and 2nd in Parked percentage. Two more putting performances like she had in Round Three, and Eveliina is likely to secure the second Worlds podium of her career. She will be on the chase card for Round Four.
Henna Blomroos (T6)
Henna Blomroos sits just one stroke behind Eveliina going into the Fourth Round. She is 2nd in Fairway Hits, 3rd in C2 Hits in Regulation, and has only taken one OB stroke so far this tournament. Henna’s skillset shapes well for Fox Run where the final two rounds will be held. She will have an opportunity to make moves up the leaderboard on the players who prefer the wooded Brewster Ridge course. Henna will join her good friend Eveliina on the chase card for Round Four.
Alex Benson (8th)
Vermont local and Innova Team member Alex Benson is currently positioned to have her best ever finish at a PDGA Major event. Alex has been playing a balanced week of golf, earning strokes on the field both off the tee and on the green. She is 6th in Scramble rate in the FPO.

Team Innova MPO Highlights
Calvin Heimburg (T9)
Vinny is sitting in the Top 10 for the first time of this World Championships. He is five strokes off the lead, but only three strokes behind the crowd of players tied for 3rd place. If the two tournament leaders don’t get off to a hot start, Vinny could find himself at the top of the leaderboard before Round Four is over.

Joel Freeman (T28)
Joel Freeman had his best Worlds performance last year, taking 7th place in Kansas. This week, Joel wants to prove that last year’s Top 10 was no fluke. Joel is five strokes behind the Top 10 mark with two rounds to make it happen. He still hasn’t taken an OB stroke yet this week.
