A Long Career at the Top
Gregg Barsby is one of fewer than 20 players in MPO history who have won a World Championship Title. He has been at the top of the MPO field longer than nearly any other player currently on tour. In a career spanning well over two decades, Gregg has played almost 500 PDGA events and has over 80 wins. His most recent A-tier win at the Santa Cruz Masters Cup last month comes 13 years after his first A-tier win. He also recently finished on the podium at the DGPT Elite Event, the 2023 Des Moines Challenge and won the 2022 PCS Sula Open presented by Innova.

Gregg’s fan base, the Barsbarians, are some of the most dedicated, hard core fans in disc golf. He earned those fans with his world-class shot making and unrivaled skills with the putter from outside circle 2. If Gregg is inside 120, he is almost definitely running the chains. That makes Barsby one of the most fun players to watch in the game.
Returning to Smuggs
This year, the World Championships will return to Smuggler’s Notch Resort for the first time since 2018 when Barbsy took home his World Title. He feels the pressure of being the returning champ to the location, but says belief in yourself is the number one key to success.
I know I’ve got a good shot this year to win another worlds. There’s a lot of good players out there who are going to do what they have to try to do and I’m definitely going to do what I have to try to do. The only difference is I’ve won one there before and I know how it feels.
