Dave Feldberg held the lead for three and a half rounds at this year’s USDGC, but Nikko Locastro chipped away at his lead until he shared it, then took it for the $15000 prize. Also up in the hunt were Phil Arthur(6th), Derek Billings (11th), and Joe Mela(T33rd)… all lefties. But it was Josh Anthon of California who stole the show during the final round.
As rumors of “the perfect round” started ricocheting around Winthrop Lake, Josh headed into the 17th hole at 16 under par. He took his only bogey and then a par to finish at -15, a new course record, and enough to propel him into third place. Nikko’s pace was too much for Dave this time, and Dave finished 2 strokes off the lead as the final putts fell. Finishing in the top ten were Paul Ulibarri and Barry Schultz (T7th), and Avery Jenkins (10th).
