Alabama Disc Golf Championships Give Val and Phil Two NT Wins
Innova swept the Womens, Masters and Grandmasters Divisions at the Alabama Disc Golf Championships this weekend. Valarie Jenkins, Phil Arthur, and Dr. Rick Voakes battled wind and rain for the NT victories.

Barry Schultz continued his hot streak this weekend at the Alabama State Championships, turning in a solid second place performance. Innova Team Captain, Ken Climo, finished in fourth just ahead of a cluster of Innova teammates including Matt Orum, Derek Billings, Paul McBeth, Paul Ulibarri, Will Schusterick, Dave Feldberg, and David Wiggins Jr.. who rounded out the top 13.

Despite challenging weather conditions, Valarie Jenkins cruised to a comfortable 22-stroke win in women’s open. Last week’s most fly girl at FlyBoy, Courtney McCoy, finished in fourth.

In Masters it was Innova sweeping the top 4 spots with Phil Arthur cruised to a twelve stroke win. East coast employee Matt Peckham tied for second with Dean Tannock and Patrick Brown finished a stroke back in fourth. Team Innova also grabbed the top two spots in Grandmasters as Dr. Rick Voakes and Lavone Wolfe finished first and second place.

Capitol of Texas Open

Jay and Des Reading made their annual stop at the Capitol of Texas Open in Austin this weekend. Even though Jay is the Masters Team Captain and plays mostly in the Masters division, Jay took the Open field to task winning by 3. Des completed the Reading sweep with a 13-stroke win of her own that featured a 1003 rated, third round score of 63.

The People’s Championship

A large field poured into Lehigh Valley for the The People’s Championship, a USDGC regional qualifying event. Innova Pro Team Captain, Mike Moser, took home second place in Open. Perennial Delmarva threat, Joe Mela won a nailbiter in Masters, finishing 1-stroke ahead of Maryland’s Tom Kim.
