With just 2 weeks to go before the Am World Championships, David Wiggins Jr. showed that he’s the one to beat this year. His trip to Michigan for the US Am Disc Golf Championship netted him a new major title, this time, US Amateur Champion. He cruised to a 10 throw victory over the field, in what was the most dominant am play yet at the challenging Toboggan Course. His 20 under par finish makes him the one to beat in the Amateur World Championships at the end of the month in Ohio, as well as the Charlotte Amateur Championships this coming weekend. He’s also earned a spot to play in the USDGC this year. Way to go, Li’l Wig!

In Japan, Valarie Jenkins also dominated her division, winning by 26 strokes over Japan’s own Mayu Nonaka. Valarie led the tournament wire to wire and apparently, never looked back. Des Reading finished third, while Carrie Berlogar took the fourth spot in the womens division. Defending champ, David Feldberg saw his dreams of a repeat performance dashed on the final hole, where he let Nikko Locastro tie him to force a playoff. On the first hole of the playoff, David ‘s drive landed OB, and Nikko’s didn’t. But hey, that’s golf, right? Innova also took the fourth through eighth spots in the open division, in this order: Ken Climo, Jussi Meresmaa, Will Schusterick, Avery Jenkins, Manabu Kajiyama. All of the players should feel like winners in Japan, where they treat you like royalty during this most prestigious event.

In Colorado, Innova was riding high with a sweep of the top three spots at the High Plains Challenge. Paul Ulibarri scored the win, with Matt Orum and Joe Rovere taking the second and third spots. In the foothills of Pennsylvania, Steve Brinster won by ten strokes over teammate Mike Moser at the Great Pocono Open. Devan Owens also won by ten strokes over fellow teammate Coda Hatfield at the Haikey Creek Classic in Oklahoma.

Also winning this week, Kris Orrick at the Birthday Bash in Tennessee, Clayton Nash at the Lake Lowndes Summer Sizzler in Mississippi, and Aaron Thomas at Mosquito Madness in the Savannah area.

Solid week for Team Innova!
