It’s been a tremendous year for Will Schusterick. He continued it in Sweden this past weekend at the first Major of the year, the Stockholm Open, where he beat an impressive international field, claiming his second PDGA Major title. It was Will’s sixth win of the 2012 season. He’s cashed in every event this year, finished no lower than 6th, and notched wins in the United States, Japan, and Sweden.

Leading the field by three after a strong first round (-8), Will gave up the lead by a stroke after a relatively flat second round. But Will’s third round, an astonishing 11 under par, moved him five strokes ahead of the competition. Will’s rivals were charging in the final round, but nobody could surpass Will’s five shot lead.

Dave Feldberg shot 55 in the final round to apply some pressure but it was too little, too late. Dave finished in the second spot just four strokes back. Solid performances were also turned in by Paul Ulibarri who finished in 5th, Markus Källström in 9th, as well as Avery Jenkins and KJ Nybo who tied for 10th.

Valarie Jenkins is also enjoying another incredible season. She finished second in Stockholm, her fifth second place finish this year. Along with all those seconds, Val has seven wins and has finished no lower than fourth all year long. Val now sets her sights on Charlotte, where she aims to win her fourth World Championship title.

In other weekend action, Mike Moser and Steve Brinster finished second and third at the Delaware Disc Golf Challenge. Josh Childs was victorious at the Augusta Top Gun, while teammates Kevin McCoy and Matt Dollar battled to a third place tie.

Other winners included Adam Hunt at Lighthouse on the Plains, Nathan Sexton at the Pine Jam, Craig Cutler at the Crane Hill Open, Brian McRee at the Zebulon Cha-Ching and Zing, and Kyle Crabtree at the Seattle SuperClassic.
